October 30, 2008, marked a historic day for the screen media industry as Major Wire Screen Media Ltd.—a division of Major Wire Industries Ltd.—opened its doors to the public. More than 40 local aggregate producers, recyclers and Major Wire Authorized Dealers from the western United States and Canada attended the event. Highlights included:

The new facility officially opened production in July 2008, and the open house was a good opportunity to show how it provides customers with reduced shipping costs and faster lead times for our OptimumWire® woven wire. Managed by Washington State native Mark Roppo, Major Wire Screen Media Ltd. is a new weaving and finishing facility recently established as a division of Montreal, Canada–based Major Wire Industries Ltd.
Our primary goal is to serve our local screening customers in western Washington and Major Wire’s western North American Authorized Dealer network with the company’s broad range of screen media solutions. With this new facility, we can now offer high-performance OptimumWire® woven wire as well as all other Major Wire screening solutions for the quarry, mining, green waste, mulch and recycle markets in North America.

Major Wire Screen Media Ltd. operates from a brand new 28,400-square-foot weaving and finishing facility just 20 minutes from the Seattle airport in Puyallup, WA. Joining Mark Roppo is Office Manager Debra Hickam and Plant Manager Steve Padilla. Additional employees have been hired to weave, hook and ship finished woven wire.
